JURIES stands for Jurors Understanding Rape Is Essential Standard.  We believe that members of juries should receive mandatory briefings at the beginning of rape and sexual abuse trials, before any evidence is heard, about myths, stereotypes and realities of rape and sexual abuse.

Alison Boydell is an Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA) and a lifelong activist, campaigner and advocate for victims and survivors of sexual violence. In 2013, she co-founded the End Online Misogyny campaign in response to the abuse received by Caroline Criado-Perez.

Jill Saward was a victim of a much publicised rape in 1986, (which led to the introduction of appeal against low sentencing). She has supported & campaigned for victims of sexual violence for over 28 years and is a former member of the WNC Sexual Violence sub group of the VAW group. In 1990, Jill wrote “Rape My Story” and has trained judges, police and students. She works with the media, raising awareness of sexual violence.
